SMJ has two storage facilities* available. One is in Tokyo, Japan, the other is in the USA at Michigan City, Indiana (about 1 hours drive from Chicago). Why store your items with us? Because we can combine multiple item winnings and ship them all together, thus saving you from some of those nasty shipping charges. We'll even store your items for up to 3 months!†

Our customers in North America will have their items stored at our facility in the USA. This is thanks to our batch shipping process which makes it cheaper to get the items overseas and then to you. Not only is it cheaper, but when you request shipment we can get them to you faster!

International customers (outside of North America) have their choice of storing item in Japan or the USA. By default we have them stored in the states, but should you want them stored in Japan simply contact us and let us know!

Items stored in Japan will ship automaticly via EMS (by default) when a large number of items have accumulated. You can request shipping at any time if you want them right away.

Sometimes we'll make a shipping judgment and have your items stored in Japan rather than having them go through our batch service to the USA. This depends on the kind of items you purchase and the shipping rates involved. We will always try to find the cheapest yet safest option to get you your goods.

Also, there are many cases of large heavy item purchases that we find would be cheaper to ship direct to the customer regardless of where the items are stored. Most of the time we'll contact you in this situation and give you shipping options to choose from unless our options are limited due to package constraints.

*Automatic shipping & storage limits: (This only pertains to those who have their items stored in Japan) Some customers buy a large number of items or very large ones and we can't hold them for long. Weight limits on SEA and SAL packages is 20kg, EMS is 30kg, but we don't keep a set limit or size to go buy, basicly if it looks like a lot, we ship. Our facility in the USA can hold quite a large number of items, however; our Japanese facility is more limited. This is why we have automatic shipping for items stored in Japan. If you want the items shipped by a specific means, simply fill out the shipping request form. Just keep an eye on "your items" and don't let them pile up if its a concern.

*Sorry, storage facilities are closed to the public. Pick-ups are not allowed.
† There is a 3 month storage limit for items stored in the USA, 1 months for items stored in Japan. All items left over 3 months are considered abbandoned and become the property of SMJ wether paid for, partially paid for, or unpaid..
