Through our unique express batch shipping process we are able to get items from the seller in Japan all the way to our storage facility in the USA. This can save a lot in shipping charges over time by not only combining multiple auctions for shipping, but storing them for up to 3 months† at no charge*!

The "internal shipping" fee that will be on your invoices includes shipping from:

Seller --> SMJ Japan storage --> SMJ USA storage.

However if you choose your have your items stored in Japan (more details in the "storage" section) then your items will be held in Japan and not sent to the USA storage facility. Packages that go through our batch process are shipped EMS, packaged securely, and insured. On average it only takes 3 days for items to reach the US storage facility from Japan!

We automatically combine shipping fees AND wire fees when you purchase auctions from the same seller if we are able! So if you buy multiple items from the same seller, we may be able to combine all the shipping fees into one lower sum and only have to pay a single wire fee. Please keep in mind that we can't ask a seller to hold items because you want to buy more. We can only combine what the sellers allows us to.

Items are then stored until you make a shipping request. Items are not normally shipped to you automatically*. Costs all depend on weight and size of the items you purchased. We do not provide shipping estimates, but you can use these sites for help:

Special circumstance shipping: Some items are simply to large / bulky to be sent in our normal batch process, and sometimes it ends up being cheaper to ship heavy items direct to you. Items such as these will be shipped out to you direct from Japan when deemed necessary by our staff there. In most cases you will be given shipping quotes to choose from. In other cases our shipping options will be limited and they'll automatically be shipped out to the address you have registered with by the most efficient means (typically EMS). See the storage section under "Automatic shipping and storage limits" for more info.

Heavy items are not cheap to ship: Please keep this in mind when planning to bid on something large. The largest shipping "bane" is books....so please remember how much all those sheets of paper can weigh!

Customs Fees and Info: Some of our customers importing items from outside the USA may have their items go through and be inspected by their governments customs officials. This can result in having to pay import duties, and even result in damaged goods if the customs agents are not careful. Please realise that SMJ cannot control these govenments activities and cannot be held responsible for damage and/or fees from items that go through customs.

From time to time international parcels and even our own batch shippments to the USA can get held by customs for long periods of time (over a month). These cases are very rare but please keep in mind SMJ cannot control such occurances.

Disallowed items: Things such as automobiles, appliances, real estate and other items that are very difficult and expensive to ship and simply not allowed by SMJ. Rule of thumb, if the USPS will ship it, we'll handle it.

† Only items stored at the USA facility can be held for up to 3 months. Japanese stoarge time limit is 1 month. Items left over that time whether paid for or not will be considered abandoned and become the sole property of Anime Chaos. Items may be stored for longer periords of time if proper arrangements are made.
